Break day in Sofia
Heavy lies the heat on the town.
Heavy are the cycling calves stressed by the mountains.
Heavy are the 17 steps through the pedestrian underpass of the subway.
Heavy are the 500g of ice cream, which in Bulgaria are the result of only two scoops.
The whole day we have been sitting around in the town centre or in our hotel room.
Towards evening we go on the Free Walking Tour with a very dedicated student. He explains to us the eventful story of Sofia between Orient and Occident, leads us past a church whose roof is said to be still left from the time before Emperor Constantine.
After the end of the tour unfortunately the church is locked. We absolutely have to come back!
In the picture there is the only mosque of Sofia, it’s the beginning of the Orient…
